Altcoin
Any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. The term is short for 'alternative coin' and encompasses thousands of different cryptocurrencies with varying use cases. Altcoins range from established large-cap projects like Ethereum and Solana to speculative meme tokens, and they tend to be more volatile than Bitcoin while offering higher potential returns.
