Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the first and largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, created by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto and launched in January 2009. It operates on a decentralized peer-to-peer network using proof-of-work consensus, where miners validate transactions and secure the network in exchange for newly minted BTC. Bitcoin has a fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins, making it inherently deflationary, and it is widely regarded as digital gold and a store of value.

Example

Bitcoin surpassed $100,000 for the first time after institutional demand surged following the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs.
