Bar Chart

A type of financial chart used in technical analysis that displays the open, high, low, and close (OHLC) prices for each time period as a single vertical bar with horizontal ticks. The top of the vertical line represents the period's high, the bottom represents the low, a left-facing tick marks the opening price, and a right-facing tick marks the closing price. Bar charts provide more detailed price information than line charts and were widely used before candlestick charts became the dominant visualization method.

Example

The analyst switched to a daily bar chart to compare the opening and closing ticks on each bar and identify days where price closed near the high of the session.
