Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI)

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) is a composite index of ten economic indicators designed to predict future economic activity in the United States. It includes components such as manufacturing hours, building permits, stock prices, and consumer expectations, making it a widely followed forecasting tool.

Example

The LEI declined for the sixth consecutive month, raising recession concerns and prompting bond traders to increase their bets on rate cuts.
