Flag and Pennant

Continuation patterns that form after a sharp price move. Flags are rectangular; pennants are triangular. Both suggest the prior trend will continue.

Example

After the stock surged 10% on earnings, a pennant formed with converging trendlines over three days, and the trader entered long on the breakout above the upper trendline, targeting a measured move equal to the flagpole.
