Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt — negative information or sentiment spread intentionally to cause fear and drive down prices.
Example
“Anonymous accounts on social media spread FUD claiming a major exchange was insolvent, causing a brief 5% dip in BTC before the exchange published proof-of-reserves data disproving the claims.”
