Shadow

The thin lines extending above and below the body of a candlestick on a price chart, also known as wicks or tails. Shadows represent the highest and lowest prices reached during the time period.

“The candle had a long lower shadow, indicating that sellers pushed the price down significantly during the session but buyers stepped in and drove it back up near the open.”
