Ugandan Shilling (UGX)

The official currency of Uganda, abbreviated as UGX and issued by the Bank of Uganda. The shilling is a free-floating currency whose value is influenced by Uganda's agricultural exports, foreign aid flows, and remittances from the diaspora. It is considered a frontier-market currency with limited liquidity in global forex markets.

Example

USD/UGX weakened to 3,750 after Uganda reported strong coffee export earnings, boosting demand for the shilling.
