Stochastic Oscillator

A momentum indicator comparing a particular closing price to a range of prices over a period. Values above 80 are overbought; below 20 are oversold.

Example

The stochastic oscillator's %K line crossed above %D in the oversold zone below 20, generating a classic buy signal that the swing trader used to enter a long position.
