About Russell 2000
The Russell 2000 Index measures the performance of approximately 2,000 smallest companies in the Russell 3000 Index. It is the most widely followed benchmark for US small-cap stocks and is closely watched as a gauge of the domestic economy since small-caps tend to be more domestically focused.
