Liquidations
What Is Liquidations?
The forced closing of leveraged positions when margin requirements are not met. Liquidation data shows the dollar value and direction (long vs short) of liquidated positions.
How to Interpret
Large long liquidation cascades often mark local bottoms as forced selling is exhausted. Large short liquidations during rallies indicate short squeezes. Total liquidations volume reflects leverage in the system.
