On-ChainA
Active Addresses
The number of unique addresses that were active in sending or receiving transactions during a given period. A proxy for network usage and adoption, active addresses are one of the most closely watched on-chain metrics. Rising active addresses often correlate with growing demand, while declining activity may signal reduced interest in a network.
Example
“Ethereum's active addresses surged to a six-month high, suggesting increasing user engagement ahead of the protocol upgrade.”
