Inside Day
A trading day where the high and low are entirely within the previous day's range. Indicates contraction and indecision, often preceding a breakout or directional move.
Example
“For example, after a volatile earnings reaction, the stock posts an inside day with a range of $148-$152 versus the prior day's $145-$155, suggesting the market is digesting the move before the next leg.”
